Take away Fish and chips at 10.30pm. Time gets away from you when it doesn’t get dark until 10pm. Very filling, hit the spot and good value at £3.60.
Fish tastes different, not sure what it is, Haddock maybe???

Ploughmans Lunch
Well something semi-healthy for a change! (Except for all that fat in the cheese…) Pork Pie was great, cheese quite mild and a bit crumbly, blue cheese was very flavorsome without being overpowering. The chutney was outstanding, best I’ve tasted, not like any bought stuff. Could have used more bread though.
Nigerian Goat Stew
Went to Greenwich Marketplace and had some Nigerian Goat Stew served from the massive simmer pot with spiced rice, chick peas, hot sauce and fresh herbs. Really nice and satisfying, tasted quite like lamb with the flakiness of stewed beef. The spiciness made me sweat, which cooled me down in the hot weather.
Steak and Chips
Had to have a steak dinner in an English pub. 10oz Rump with Hollandaise Sauce, cooked medium rare, served with peas and chips.
Although it’s a familiar meal, the tastes are subtly different. Flavours are gentler, like the climate. Not lacking in flavour though – very tasty and satisfying, nor better than Aus, just softer, a bit sweeter and more spacious.
Accompanied by an ice cold Guinness.
Full English Breakfast
Absolutely delicious full cooked breakfast, almost keeps me going until dinner.
I love Cafe Mimo. Wish it was next door to my house.
Toast x 3, Eggs x 2, Thick cut bacon, Mushrooms, Tomato & Baked Beans! Yum. Served up in less than 5 mins. Espresso on the table in 1 min.
And the meal only costs £3.80 (as opposed to £12.50 at my hotel next door)
Massimo Cafe
On the ferry across the English Channel I ordered a large cappuccino and got this massive stein!! This could be dangerous…
Sausage Roll
Had a sausage roll for an afternoon snack. It had an actual pork sausage inside it, covered in sauce, then baked inside the puff pastry, brilliant! Pre-sauced!
Roast Dinner
Well this looked good when it came out but was actually quite disappointing. I’ve cooked better myself, and had way better at the bushwackers! Tough meat, only baked veg were two potatoes. Not that it was a bad meal, but not what I’d expected for £10.
Lunch in Paris
Sauvignon Blanc in Brasserie by the Sienne, with escargot, saumon et creme caramel. Magnifique.
